PAINTBALL MASKS
Rental masks are ASTM safety certified and tested for impacts. Required at all time during active game play. Masks cover and protect participants’ eyes, ears, and face from direct paintball impacts. Universal, one size fits most.
BARREL COVERS
A bag device used to catch accidental shots in safe zones. Required to be placed on the barrel of every paintball gun in the safe zones. Barrel blocking bags/covers follow a standard design approved by most insurance companies.
OPTIONAL PROTECTION
OPTIONAL: Gloves, chest, and neck protectors are often available at parks for purchase, rent, or included in select packages. Not a requirement, but a good option for younger age players.
PARK SAFETY
SAFE ZONES
Live shooting is isolated to game courses and target ranges. Placing signage helps visitors identify safe zones vs. active game courses. Hanging safety netting or using natural terrain helps to create the safe zones.
PLAYING COURSES
Regular maintenance and inspections are made to the game courses. This ensures any hazardous objects, plants, critters, and unsafe obstructions are handled prior to game play.
CLEAN & SANITIZE
Parks frequently clean and disinfect all rental equipment, queue lines, restrooms, food locations, and employee break areas. Paintball can be a messy game, so parks have adapted rigorous cleaning methods.
TRAINED REFEREES
Paintball referees undergo specialized training to manage the actual game, as well as maintain safety throughout the entire paintball experience. Safe, fair and fun play is to the responsibility of a well-trained paintball referee.
INSURANCE
A standard recommendation is for paintball parks is to have an insurance policy and requires signed liability waivers. Anyone under 18 years of age requires a parent/guardian sign them in.
AGE REQUIREMENTS
The age range will vary depending on the activity and judgement of each park. Making sure a minimum age is set, not only assures the rental equipment fits, but also provides a quality experience.
GAME SAFETY
GAME RULES
While the rules for playing the actual game of paintball can vary, the safety rules remain the same. Outside of dedicated safe zones, the mask must be worn unless otherwise instructed.
FAIR PLAY
Separating players based on experience is common practice to keep the game play fair. Most teams are separated into even numbers unless the course set up or game style offsets the count.
VELOCITY LIMIT
The speed of paintball is measured in feet per second (FPS). Each park can set a lower velocity limit, but all parks cap the max velocity at 300 FPS.
ADDITIONAL CERTIFICATIONS
TECH CERTIFICATION
Manufacturers provide certified technician classes to teach paintball operators how to maintain and repair the rental equipment. This assures a safe and quality experience for each participant.
